Job summary

GFL Environmental Inc. is hiring a Residential Driver in North Carolina to safely and efficiently provide waste removal services to customers on curbside and backdoor routes. You will operate residential trucks, collect waste, and maintain records and vehicle condition.

We value safety, reliability, and excellent customer service. A valid CDL and a high school diploma or GED are required; one year of commercial driving experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is desired.
• Must possess a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
• Minimum one year of commercial driving experience OR CDL school certificate.
• Must meet safety-sensitive criteria per company standards.
• Ability to safely drive the truck and operate equipment.

Responsibilities

• Operate residential/recycling collection truck on assigned route.
• Load waste and recyclables into the vehicle.
• Operate vehicle and compact waste as needed.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections and complete required reports.
• Communicate mechanical issues to supervisor/maintenance.
• Maintain route quality and safety compliance.
• Maintain clean vehicle interior and exterior.
• Identify and tag prohibited items and handle accordingly.
• Manage any assigned helpers and assist with routing improvements.
