Job summary

GFL Environmental Inc. is seeking a Residential Driver to safely and efficiently provide waste removal services on curbside and backdoor routes. You will operate rear-load trucks, collect solid waste or recyclables, and transport to post-collection facilities, representing the company with courtesy and professionalism.

You will work on local routes, enjoy a modern fleet, and benefit from ongoing training and opportunities for advancement while contributing to community cleanliness and safety.

Qualifications

• Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) required.
• At least 1 year of commercial driving experience or a certificate from an accredited CDL school.
• Commitment to safety-sensitive functions and maintaining a clean driving record.
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and lift up to 50 lbs repetitively.
• Strong spatial awareness, especially backing into tight spaces, and a professional demeanor.

Responsibilities

• Operate rear-load trucks to collect waste, yard waste, and recyclables.
• Utilize hydraulic systems and compaction units with precision.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
• Provide courteous service to neighbors and ensure routes are completed accurately.

The Residential Driver will be responsible for safely, efficiently, and courteously providing waste removal services to customers. The driver will collect solid waste or recyclables on curbside and/or backdoor routes and transporting to post-collection facilities.

Key Responsibilities

As a Residential Driver, you are the face of GFL. You will:

• Operate with Pride: Safely navigate residential neighborhoods in rear-load trucks to collect waste, yard waste, and recyclables.
• Master the Equipment: Utilize hydraulic systems and compaction units with precision to maximize efficiency and minimize mechanical wear.
• Safety First: Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections. At GFL, if it isn’t safe, we don’t do it.
• Customer Excellence: Provide courteous service to our neighbors, ensuring routes are completed accurately and containers are handled with care.

What You’ll Need (Requirements)

• The License: A valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
• The Experience: At least 1 year of commercial driving experience OR a certificate from an accredited CDL school.
