Job summary

DCC Propane, LLC seeks a reliable propane delivery and installation technician to support residential, commercial, and industrial customers. You will safely operate DOT-compliant delivery trucks, install propane systems, and perform maintenance and diagnostics at customer sites.

The role requires Class B CDL with preferred Tanker/HaZmat endorsements, strong mechanical aptitude, and the ability to work independently and manage time effectively.

Qualifications

• Licensing and Certifications: Class B CDL.
• Endorsements (Preferred): Tanker/HaZmat.
• Experience delivering propane or related field, with strong mechanical aptitude.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate a propane delivery truck in DOT compliance.
• Deliver propane to customers as scheduled and ensure timely deliveries.
• Load and unload propane tanks, ensuring secure transportation.
• Install propane tanks, gas lines and related equipment at customer sites.
• Perform routine maintenance and safety inspections on propane systems.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot and repair propane systems including tanks and regulators.
• Conduct leak tests and safety inspections to ensure system integrity.
• Maintain records of deliveries, installations, and repairs.
• Provide on-call support and emergency service as needed.
• Explain operation and maintenance to customers and address inquiries.

Schedule:

Standard schedule is Monday to Friday 8am to 5pm. Occasional weekends, on-call shifts, and overtime available. Extended hours typical during busy season of October to March.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in propane delivery, installation, or a related field.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.

  • Ability to lift heavy objects and work in various weather conditions.
  • Good manual dexterity and ability to use hand and power tools.

Core Duties/Key Responsibilities

• Delivery and Transportation:
  • Safely operate a propane delivery truck in compliance with DOT regulations.
  • Deliver propane to customers as scheduled, ensuring accurate and timely deliveries.
  • Handle, load, and unload propane tanks and cylinders, ensuring secure and safe transportation.
• Installation and Maintenance:
  • Install propane tanks, gas lines, and related equipment at customer sites.
  • Conduct routine maintenance, safety inspections, and repairs on propane systems and equipment.
  • Perform diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repairs of propane systems, including tanks, regulators, meters, and appliances.
• Safety and Compliance:
  • Conduct leak tests, pressure checks, and safety inspections to ensure system integrity and functionality.
  • Maintain accurate records of deliveries, installations, maintenance, and repairs.
  • Follow all safety protocols and regulations to ensure safe handling of propane and prevent accidents.
• Customer Service:
  • Interact with customers to explain the operation and maintenance of propane systems.
  • Address customer inquiries and concerns, providing timely and effective solutions.
  • Provide emergency services and on-call support as needed.
