Job summary

CKM INDUSTRIES INC is seeking an experienced operator in Sulphur, LA. As an operator, you will drive and operate power equipment while adhering to safety protocols and DOT laws. Must have a Valid Class A CDL and a Tanker and Hazmat endorsement within 90 days.

You will manage tasks related to equipment maintenance and customer deliveries, including maintaining logs and inspections. This role requires physical strength and flexibility with a willingness to work additional hours, including overtime.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of CMV driving experience.
• Acceptable MVR/Background Check and pass pre-employment screenings.
• Ability to work overtime and emergency callouts as needed.

Primary Responsibilities and Key Deliverables

• Drive and operate all power equipment and vehicles safely and efficiently, complying with DOT laws and company and customer policies and procedures on public highways, company, and customer property.
• Operate and set up all necessary equipment in accordance with operation training and guidelines and safety procedures.
• Adhere to all safety policies and practices, including the use of personal protective gear.
• Manually clean, install, fit, and repair valves, caps, hoses, pumps, gaskets, and all other external and internal equipment.
• Drive truck to destination and operate equipment to load or unload materials.
• Prepare customer delivery tickets for product delivered and obtain customer signatures.
• Maintain records of materials and products transported.
• Keep vehicle logs, cargo records, and shipping manifests as required by state and federal regulations.
• Complete daily pre-trip inspections and DVIR.
• Maintain telephone or radio contact with supervisor to receive delivery instructions.
• Read maps and follow written and verbal communication.

Qualifications – Minimum Education and Experience

• Valid Class A CDL.
• Tanker and Hazmat endorsement (or ability to obtain within the first 90 days).
• At least 1 year of CMV driving experience.
• Acceptable MVR/Background Check and pass pre-employment screenings.

Work Environment

• Tools, equipment, and machinery used: hydroblasting, vacuum truck, and tank cleaning equipment.
• Exposure to all weather conditions; work on structures and surfaces at ground and elevated levels up to, and possibly exceeding, 150 ft; work in confined spaces; work a 12-hour shift with 30-minute lunch breaks.
• Optional overtime, emergency callouts, work days, nights, and weekends; travel to customers and other sites as needed.
• Physical effort: handling tools, materials, and equipment weighing up to 150 lbs; ability to lift up to 50 lbs; must be able to sit, stand, walk, crawl, bend, squat, kneel, and climb towers/vessels/tanks.
