Capital Waste Services is seeking a safety-conscious Front-End Driver in Chattanooga to operate a Front-End Loader (FEL) truck on commercial routes. You will provide reliable waste collection, maintain DOT compliance, and deliver excellent customer service while working independently on daily routes.

Applicants should have a valid CDL (Class A or B), a clean driving record, and at least 3 years of Front-End Loader experience.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A or Class B CDL is required.
• Clean driving record and ability to meet insurability requirements.
• Must pass DOT drug screen, background check, and medical exam.
• Minimum age 21 years.
• 3+ years of Front-End Loader experience or similar.

Responsibilities

• Operate a Front-End Loader (FEL) truck to collect and transport commercial waste.
• Complete assigned routes efficiently and on schedule.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections; report maintenance concerns.
• Ensure proper servicing of commercial containers with minimal property damage.
• Maintain compliance with DOT regulations and company safety procedures.
• Interact professionally with customers and address service-related concerns.
• Use route management tech and onboard systems as required.
• Keep vehicles clean and in good operating condition.
• Report accidents, incidents, and safety hazards immediately.
• Complete route documentation and paperwork accurately.
• Assist with training new drivers when assigned.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Position Summary

Capital Waste Services is seeking a safety-conscious and dependable Front-End Driver to service commercial waste containers throughout an assigned route. This position operates a Front-End Loader (FEL) truck to safely service commercial dumpsters while providing exceptional customer service and maintaining compliance with all DOT, company, and safety regulations. The ideal candidate is reliable, self-motivated, and committed to operating safely while maintaining high service standards. This role requires working independently, managing time effectively, and representing Capital Waste Services in a professional manner with customers and the communities we serve.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Safely operate a Front-End Loader (FEL) truck to collect and transport commercial waste.
• Complete assigned routes efficiently and according to established schedules.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and report maintenance concerns promptly.
• Ensure proper servicing of commercial containers while minimizing property damage.
• Maintain compliance with all DOT regulations, company policies, and safety procedures.
• Interact professionally with customers and address service-related concerns appropriately.
• Use route management technology and onboard systems as required.
• Keep vehicles clean and in good operating condition.
• Report accidents, incidents, equipment failures, and safety hazards immediately.
• Complete route documentation, inspection reports, and other required paperwork accurately and timely.

Qualifications

Required

• Valid Class A or Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
• Acceptable driving record and ability to meet company insurability requirements.
• Ability to pass DOT drug screening, background check, and physical examination.
• Minimum age of 21 years.
• Ability to safely operate commercial vehicles in varying weather and traffic conditions.
• Strong commitment to safety and customer service.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience with Front-End

Preferred

• Previous front end, commercial waste, sanitation, or heavy equipment experience.
• Waste industry experience.
• Experience driving automated commercial vehicles or heavy trucks.

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

• Thorough understanding of DOT regulations and safe driving practices.
• Ability to operate hydraulic equipment safely and efficiently.
• Strong attention to detail and situational awareness.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Effective communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to manage time and complete routes efficiently.
• Dependable attendance and punctuality.

Physical Requirements

• Frequently climb into and out of commercial vehicles.
• Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, reach, push, pull, and climb throughout the workday.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and humidity.
• Ability to perform repetitive motions associated with vehicle operation and inspections.

Work Environment

• Outdoor work environment with regular exposure to traffic, weather conditions, dust, noise, and waste materials.
• Requires early morning starts, overtime, weekends, and holiday work as business needs dictate.
