Job summary

West Central FS, Inc. is seeking a responsible driver to operate tractor-trailer and related equipment according to schedule. You will deliver and pick up agronomy and energy products, ensuring safe, on-time service for customers.

Required are a CDL with endorsements, a clean driving record, and the ability to work extended hours. The role includes daily safety checks, accurate logbooks, and professional interaction with customers.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; 2+ years of related experience to operate tractor-trailer equipment and meet DOT standards.
• Must obtain and maintain CDL with required endorsements, medical card, and a clean driving record.
• Ability to work extended hours and be on-call as business conditions warrant.
• Lift 51–70 lbs and perform duties safely using proper procedures.

Responsibilities

• Operate single, tandem, or multi-axle trucks and forklifts per safety standards.
• Perform daily pre-trip safety checks and maintain logs.
• Load/unload containers and ensure loads are balanced per DOT requirements.
• Complete deliveries and pickups on schedule with professional service.
• Prepare and return documents: bills of lading, delivery slips, invoices, logs.
• Maintain daily paperwork and cargo records.
• Uphold company image and equipment standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

COMPENSATION : $20 - $25 hourly

Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law.

PURPOSE AND SUMMARY STATEMENT

Operates single, tandem, or multi-axle trucks to deliver and pick up agronomy or energy products between company and customer locations according to scheduled timelines, supporting profitable business growth.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Operates assigned vehicles and equipment, including single, tandem, or multi-axle vehicles and forklifts, in accordance with safety standards and proper operating procedures.
• Performs and records daily pre-trip safety checks, including fuel, oil, tires, lights, and brakes; follows preventative maintenance procedures and keeps the truck clean and professional.
• Safely loads and unloads containers, pallets, materials, and products by hand or forklift, ensuring loads are balanced, distributed, and compliant with DOT axle weight requirements.
• Completes deliveries and pickups on schedule while providing professional, customer-focused service.
• Completes and returns required documentation, including bills of lading, delivery slips, and invoices, to support timely receiving and payment.
• Completes daily paperwork, including accurate logbooks, cargo records, and other assigned records.
• Maintains company equipment and a professional image in accordance with company standards and uniform policy.
• Performs all other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS

• Normally requires a high school diploma or equivalent and 2+ years of related experience to demonstrate safe operation of tractor-trailer or tender truck equipment and meet company and DOT standards.
• Demonstrates essential abilities including business knowledge, collaboration, communication, customer focus, decision making and skill development.
• Must have, or be able to obtain and maintain, a CDL with required endorsements, applicable certifications, licenses or permits, valid medical card, and satisfactory driving record.
• Ability to work extended hours and on-call as business conditions warrant
• Must be able to obtain and maintain other applicable certifications, licenses, and permits.
• Occasionally exposed or required:
• Extreme weather conditions (hot, cold, wet, etc.)
• Working conditions may include dust, fumes, chemicals, and electrical hazards with appropriate safety measures
• May be required to work at varying heights
• Lift 51 - 70 lbs.
