Job summary

Dyno Nobel is hiring a CDL Driver / Equipment Operator to operate Dyno Nobel trucks and equipment, delivering explosive products safely and on schedule. You’ll maintain records, perform basic maintenance, and ensure compliance with DOT, OSHA, MSHA, EPA and BATFE.

Qualified candidates hold a Class A or B CDL with Hazmat, Tanker, and Air Brakes endorsements, have 2+ years of related experience, and can pass an ATF background check. Must be 21+ with strong safety mindset.

Qualifications

• CDL required and Hazmat/Tanker/Air Brakes endorsements preferred
• At least 2 years of related experience in the explosives or trucking industries are preferred
• Ability to read, write and speak English clearly and effectively

Responsibilities

• Operate and drive straight bed and bulk trucks to prepare and deliver explosive products safely and on time
• Perform basic maintenance and complete inventory records and required reports
• Comply with DOT, OSHA, MSHA, EPA and BATFE procedures and company safety standards

What You’ll Do

As the CDL Driver / Equipment Operator, you will operate all types of Dyno Nobel trucks and specialty equipment to prepare and deliver explosive products to customers in a safe, timely, and efficient manner. You will be responsible for completing inventory records, other appropriate documentation and reports. Other duties will include:

• Drive/operate straight bed vehicles over public roads in order to move or deliver explosive products to company or customer sites in a timely and safe manner
• Drive and operate bulk/blend truck in order to prepare and deliver quality ANFO products to customer sites
• Operate and perform maintenance on trucks
• Deliver and off load product within companyH&S Management System procedures and practices
• Calibrate equipment, calculate fuel percentages, and check emulsion density
• Follow all safety procedures and maintain safe working conditionswhile driving and operating equipment, and while on blast sites in order to protect personal safety and safety of others
• Prepare and maintainrecords and reports concerning the handling and transportation of explosive products, including safety, and the use and detonation of explosives, in order to assure accurate billing, regulatory compliance, and performance history
• Comply with applicable DOT, OSHA, MSHA, EPA and BATFE.

What We’re Looking For:

• Class A or B CDL required
• Hazmat, Tanker, and Air Brakes endorsements
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• 2+ yearsof related experience preferred (explosives industry an asset)
• Must be willing to undergo and pass an ATF background check as required to be a possessor of explosives
• Ability to read, write, and speak English, and to communicate in writing and verbally
• Willingness to work early mornings and 10-12 hour shifts
• Must be at least 21 years of age
• Positive attitude, friendly demeanor, and a team player
