Job summary

City of University Park is seeking a sanitation technician to operate a rear-loader truck and perform residential waste collection in Dallas. You will drive the vehicle, collect, and dispose of waste, and assist with bulky item pickups and yard waste.

Qualifications include a high school diploma, a Texas Class C license, and the ability to obtain a Class B CDL within six months. You will maintain vehicle safety checks and accurate records, and may substitute in other sanitation duties as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• One year of experience in waste collection preferred.
• Valid Texas Class C driver's license required at time of hire.
• CDL Class B required or ability to obtain within six months.

Responsibilities

• Drive rear-loader sanitation vehicle and collect/dispose solid waste from residential containers.
• Collect yard waste and bulky items.
• Travel to transfer station to dispose waste materials.
• Clear alleys to provide space for collection vehicles.
• Maintain and inspect vehicles; perform safety checks.
• Maintain work records: vehicle checklists, trip logs, DOT logs, repair reports.
• Substitute in other sanitation positions as needed.
