Job summary

Central Environmental, Inc. is seeking a professional driver to transport materials and heavy equipment in Anchorage, AK, with occasional out-of-area travel. The role requires a valid CDL (Class A/B), a current DOT medical certificate, and a clean driving record.

You will load, haul, and secure loads, perform pre/post trip inspections, and maintain logs per regulatory requirements. The position emphasizes safety, regulatory compliance, and reliable communication while supporting project needs

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid Class A or B Commercial Driver's License.

• Working knowledge of construction site safety, site regulations and vehicle maintenance.
• Demonstrated problem solving and effective communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Transport crushed rock, sand, gravel, debris, and related materials to specified locations.
• Verify material types and ensure proper loading.
• Transport heavy equipment (dozers, excavators, rollers, attachments).
• Ensure equipment is properly tied down and secured.
• Inspect trucks, tractors, and trailers before/after trips as required.
• Maintain accurate driver logs and regulatory documentation for transport and disposal.

About this position:

Location - Anchorage, AK

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Transporting crushed rock, sand, gravel, broken concrete, debris, broken asphalt, etc. to and from specified locations.
• Verifying the types of materials being transported and ensuring that materials are loaded.
• Transporting Heavy Equipment such as dozers, excavators, rollers, attachments, etc.
• Verifying all types of equipment being transported are properly tied down.
• Inspect Trucks/Tractors/Trailers before and after every trip or as required by management.
• Maintain Accurate Driver Logs.
• Maintain proper documentation per regulatory requirements for transport and disposals.
• Performs other job-related duties as required or assigned.

Required (Minimum Necessary) Qualifications

• Valid Class A/B Commercial Driver's License.
• Valid Medical Examiners Certificate - must pass DOT physical
• Good Driving Record
• Proven Experience operating tractor/trailers, dump trucks, walking floor trailers, etc.
• Working Knowledge of construction site safety, truck maintenance, and road safety regulations.
• Excellent problem-solving skills
• Effective communication skills
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds on a regular basis
• Must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions
• Out-of-town & overnight travel is required
• Must comply with the Company's drug and alcohol testing requirements
• Must pass pre-employment Fit for Duty Physical
