Job summary

Bering Straits Native Corporation (BSNC) is seeking a CDL Driver for Anchorage, Alaska. The position focuses on transporting materials, inspecting vehicles, and maintaining logs in compliance with DOT requirements.

The role requires a Class A/B license, clean driving record, and ability to work outdoors in all weather. Travel and overnight stays may be required; drug screening and background checks are part of the hiring process.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A/B Commercial Driver’s License.
• Valid Medical Examiner's Certificate – must pass DOT physical.
• Good Driving Record.
• Proven Experience operating tractor/trailers, dump trucks, walking floor trailers, etc.
• Working Knowledge of construction site safety, truck maintenance, and road safety regulations.
• Excellent problem-solving skills.
• Effective communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Transporting crushed rock, sand, gravel, broken concrete, debris, broken asphalt, etc. to and from specified locations. Verifying the types of materials being transported and ensuring that materials are loaded.
• Transporting Heavy Equipment such as dozers, excavators, rollers, attachments, etc. Verifying all types of equipment being transported are properly tied down.
• Inspect Trucks/Tractors/Trailers before and after every trip or as required by management.
• Maintain Accurate Driver Logs.
• Maintain proper documentation per regulatory requirements for transport and disposals.
• Performs other job-related duties as required or assigned.

Required (Minimum Necessary) Qualifications

• Education Requirements:

• Good Driving Record

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, And Other Characteristics

• Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds on a regular basis
• Must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions
• Out-of-town & overnight travel is required
• Must comply with the Company’s drug and alcohol testing requirements
• Must pass pre-employment Fit for Duty Physical

Additional Qualifying Factors
