Job summary

Capital Waste Services is seeking a CDL driver to operate Front-End Load, Roll-Off, Rear-Load, and ASL trucks to collect and transport waste. You will ensure safe loading/unloading and follow DOT regulations while maintaining accurate records and delivering great customer service.

The role requires a valid CDL A or B, a current medical card, and a clean driving record. Full-time with benefits and a Monday–Friday schedule is available in Columbia, SC.

Qualifications

• CDL A or B license required with at least 2 years in waste industry.
• Must pass DOT physical, drug screen and background check.
• Valid Medical Card preferred.
• Minimum 21 years of age and a good MVR.

Responsibilities

• Operate Front-End Load, Roll-Off, Rear-Load, and ASL trucks.
• Ensure safe loading/unloading and adherence to safety regulations.
• Perform routine vehicle inspections and basic maintenance.
• Maintain delivery records and communicate with team and supervisors.
• Provide excellent customer service during interactions with the public.

CDL Driver Qualifications

• CDL Drivers with a Class "B or A" CDL
• Prefer at least 2 years of driving experience in the garbage truck industry with rear load, ASL, roll off, or front end
• safe driving record and will be verified through the Department of Motor Vehicles
• current and in compliance with all D.O.T. requirements
• Valid Medical Certification
• Be dependable, reliable and trustworthy
• Be able to pass a drug test and background check

• Ensure the safe loading and unloading of materials while adhering to all safety regulations.

• Maintain accurate records of deliveries and communicate effectively with team members and supervisors.

License/Certification:

Requirements:
Education, Training, Experience and Licensing/Certification Requirements:

• Previous experience with Front-End Load, Roll-Off, Rear-Load, Automated Side-Load (ASL) (Preferred)
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) (desired)
• Possess valid Class A or B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)
• Prior waste industry driving experience (Preferred)
• Two (2) years of satisfactory driving experience of Class A or B vehicles (Required)
• Satisfactory MVR (Motor Vehicle Driving Record)
• Must pass a DOT physical, drug screen and criminal background check
