Job summary

Pool Equipment & Supply Inc. is seeking a full-time route/delivery associate in Madison, AL to provide prompt, courteous deliveries and warehouse support. You will perform inspections, load and unload orders, and ensure paperwork accuracy while complying with DOT/FMCSA and safety rules.

The role requires a valid CDL Class B with HazMat endorsement or willingness to obtain, an insurable driving record, and strong customer service skills. Typical hours are Monday–Friday with possible overtime.

Responsibilities

• Deliver and unload customer orders; obtain signatures for paperwork.
• Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.

• Operate forklift equipment as needed and safely secure loads.
• Load truck accurately and organize delivery paperwork.
• Assist with warehouse duties and keep aisles clear.
• Provide courteous customer service and handle returns as required.
• Be vigilant against theft and adhere to OSHA/SDS standards.

Job description

• A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Valid United States Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with HazMat endorsement required or upon hire willing to obtain your hazmat endorsement.
• Must have an insurable driving record.

Position Summary

Provides excellent internal and external customer service by making prompt and courteous deliveries of customer orders. Makes pick-ups as necessary. Performs general warehouse duties and customer assistance as needed. Performs all job responsibilities in a safe, timely and efficient manner.

• Perform daily pre-trip / post-trip inspections on vehicles and keep accurate records.
• Perform all functions in compliance with DOT/FMCSA regulations, company fleet safety, and general safety rules.
• Operate a Moffett (truck mounted forklift)
• Operate a forklift (powered industrial truck)
• May be required to drive a non-commercial vehicle
• Load truck accurately, safely, and properly secure the load for customer deliveries.
• Organize appropriate paperwork for daily deliveries. Example: Invoices, Pick-up tickets, etc.
• Accurately deliver and unload customer orders to designated destinations in a timely manner and obtain signatures to complete all required paperwork.
• Collect payments at the time of delivery when required.
• Perform safe work practices, such as wearing required PPE, proper lifting techniques, etc. when carrying out daily work duties and using company equipment.
• Conduct all operations in accordance with OSHA & SDS standards.
• Fill customer orders by retrieving material from the warehouse and other locations.
• Check in and put away material, verifying quantities and quality of received material. Maintain clear isles and walkways. Ensure the material is properly organized.
• Follow procedures for returned products. Returned products include over-stock, damaged products, and warranty items.
• Accept returns from customers, complete appropriate paperwork and return products to the warehouse.
• Know the location of merchandise in the warehouse. Keep material organized and put away.
• Assist in maintaining the appearance of the branch, clean warehouse, counter area, bathrooms, outside parking lot, yard, etc.
• Perform additional tasks as required and/or assigned.
• Be vigilant against any attempted theft.
• Read and identify numbers for accurate order filling and receiving of material.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Excellent understanding of federal, state, and local regulations governing the transport of hazardous materials.

This position requires regular standing; walking; using hands and arms to finger, handle, feel, or carry; reach with hands and arms, sit, climb, or balance or stoop; kneel, crouch, or crawl. Must be able to lift-up-to 100 lbs. Move product as much as 100 yards. Must be able to sit and drive for periods not to exceed six hours.

Position Type / Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Typical work schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Based on branch location, work hours are subject to change. Must be flexible to work overtime and Saturdays during peak season.
