Job summary

Mill Creek Lumber & Supply Co in Tulsa, OK is seeking a reliable Delivery Driver with a CDL A to join our team. This role involves more than driving: delivering lumber, building materials, hardware to customers’ homes, sites, or businesses and verifying order details with the customer.

You will load and unload, collect paperwork, store safety checks, assist yard staff, and help customers with loading questions. Forklift certification and company training are required.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Record and file delivery paperwork for tracking.

Mill Creek Lumber is looking for a reliable Delivery Driver with a CDL A. This position allows the driver to work a consistent Mon-Fri work week. However, this role involves more than just driving.Drive company vehicle to deliver lumber & building materials, as well as hardware and other building supplies to customer's home, construction site or place of businessVerify order details and obtain customer signatureRecord all pertinent delivery information as needed for accurate trackingCollect and organize required paperwork for delivery and transfer activityTreat all customers with courtesy and respect, including listening to and assisting in resolving customer complaintsReport customer complaints or requests in a timely mannerCollect or picks up empty containers, rejected merchandise from delivery sites as directedLoad vehicle safely and accuratelyMaintain the appearance of the inside and outside of delivery vehiclesPerform routine safety check on vehiclesAssist yard and warehouse with stocking, loading and organizing materialsAssist customers with loading material and product questions when not drivingFollow Standard Operating Procedures while carrying out the responsibilities of positionComply with all company safety standards, and all federal, state, and local lawsAttend all store meetings and training sessions.Class A CDL requiredAbility to read and comprehend instructions.Ability to write simple correspondence.Ability to effectively present information to customers, clients, and other employeesAbility to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measureAbility to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructionsAbility to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situationsMust be able to meet the driver eligibility guidelines of the CompanyMust successfully complete all Company training and certification requirements regarding equipment usage, including obtaining forklift certificationCan read and speak the English language sufficiently to converse with the general public, to understand highway signs and signals and to respond to official inquiriesCan safely operate the type of commercial motor vehicle he/she drivesIs physically qualified to drive a commercial motor vehicle in accordance with FMCSR requirements
