Job summary

Qualifications

• Must have a Class A or B CDL valid for the state in which the position works.
• Must have a clean driving record.
• Must be at least 21 years of age or older.
• Understand refuse collection policies and DOT/state requirements for operators of commercial motor vehicles.
• Must be able to communicate in English (read and spoken).

Responsibilities

• Safely drives truck on pre-established route and dumps garbage and refuse.
• Provides courteous and efficient customer service to the public and customers.
• Ensures proper pickup and transfer of garbage and recyclables.
• Performs pre- and post-trip inspections and safety checks.
• Maintains a clean truck and conducts routine maintenance checks.
• Performs manual duties in cleanup of scattered refuse.
• Prepares and submits required reports and documents.
• Responsible for all persons working on vehicle during route.
