hth companies is seeking a CDL Driver/Operator to safely drive vacuum and waterblast trucks across our Midwest territories. The role includes supporting site crews, maintaining logs, and ensuring equipment is operated to DOT standards.

Qualifications include a valid CDL Class B, ability to pass an MVR, and strong English reading/writing skills, with emphasis on safety and timely execution in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Drive vacuum trucks, waterblast trucks, and other commercial vehicles to project sites.

  • Maintain accurate driving logs and hours per DOT guidelines.
  • Complete vehicle inspection reports and ensure safe operation before leaving sites.
  • Report accidents or injuries to Safety Manager or site supervisors.
  • Maintain and operate equipment safely and know its limits.
  • Connect and disconnect hoses and unload materials as needed.
  • Promote a positive workplace and safety culture.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Position Overview

The CDL Driver/Operator will be responsible for driving vacuum trucks, waterblast trucks, and other commercial vehicles to and from project sites all across the company territories. The CDL Driver/Operator will also assist crews at the sites and will ensure that they are operating their vehicles and their tools in a safe manner.

Responsibilities And Duties
  • Drives and operates vacuum trucks, waterblast trucks, and other commercial vehicles to and from project sites.
  • Obeys traffic laws and regulations.
  • Maintains accurate driving logs and hours in compliance with company policy and DOT guidelines.
  • Completes vehicle inspection reports to ensure vehicle and equipment are safe to operate before leaving sites and stays within DOT compliance.
  • Immediately report all accidents, near misses, and injuries involving employees or others to the Safety Manager or Supervisors on site.
  • Maintains equipment and vehicles, helps in operation of equipment, and understands the ability of the equipment and how to operate it in a safe manner.
  • Connect and disconnect hoses, dump/unload materials, clean out truck tank after each use.
  • Actively champions a positive workplace and safety culture.
  • Performs various other duties and functions as required or assigned.
Education and Experience
  • Must have a commercial drivers license, Class B.
  • Must be able to pass a motor vehicle report.
  • Basic verbal and written communication skills and must be able to read and write in English.
  • Basic interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Basic organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Working understanding of safety principles, practices, and procedures.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.

  • Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and other tools and equipment in a safe and controlled manner.
  • Ability to perform inspections of site, tools, and equipment.
  • Ability to perform behavioral observations focused on safety and process improvement.
  • Ability to follow safety protocol and to report any incident, unsafe act, or unsafe condition immediately to the site supervisor and safety manager.
Training
  • Must provide proof of successful completion of OSHA 10 hour within 60 days of starting at hth companies.
