Job summary

Barnard Construction Company, Inc. is seeking a CDL Class A Lowboy Driver in the United States to haul heavy construction equipment across sites. You will be responsible for securing loads, performing daily inspections, and maintaining logs in compliance with DOT regulations.

The role requires the ability to work 50–70 hours per week, pass background and drug screening, and operate safely under site management guidance. Strong safety awareness is essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid CDL and satisfactory driving record.
• Experienced CDL Class A Lowboy Driver for heavy construction transport.
• Hands-on experience hauling excavators, bulldozers, loaders and other heavy machinery with proper loading and securement.
• Familiarity with DOT regulations.
• Inspect loads for safety and compliance.
• Maintain logs of hours and vehicle service per regulations.
• Operate equipment safely per site management instructions.
• Report vehicle defects or damage promptly.
• Daily truck inspections and readiness checks.
• Notify supervisor when repairs are needed.
• Understand safety and occupational hazards of work.

• The ideal candidate has hands-on experience hauling equipment such asexcavators, bulldozers, loaders, skid steers, graders, rollers, and other heavy machineryand understands proper loading and securement procedures.

• Inspect loads for safety.
• Maintain logs of working hours and vehicle service hours and follow applicable state and federal regulations.
• Operate equipment in an efficient manner and follow instruction of on site management.
• Report vehicle defects, accidents, or damage to the vehicle.
• Responsible for daily inspections of truck to ensure the truck is in proper and safe working order.
• Responsible for notifying supervisor if truck needs to be repaired.
• Understands safety and occupational hazards of work.

• Ability to exert heavy physical effort, handling average weight objects up to 25 pounds.
• Ability to kneel, stoop, crouch, balance, climb or crawl.
• Ability to correctly rig and hoist material.
• Ability to tolerate heights without fear.
• Ability to maintain balance.
• Able to enter the cab of a vehicle or piece of equipment that is 3 feet or more off the ground.
• Ability to stand or walk for long periods of time, reach for, handle, and manipulate items and to work in extreme weather conditions (cold and wet).
• Able to work long, irregular and varied hours, 50 to 70 hours per week.
• Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
• Ability to safely and effectively perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal , state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
