Job summary

Grayson Carter and Son Contracting, Inc. is seeking a CDL driver to operate commercial vehicles, including dump trucks, in accordance with traffic laws and safety regulations.

You will secure cargo, perform basic vehicle checks, and maintain a high standard of workmanship while representing the company professionally. The role requires at least 1 year of CDL experience, knowledge of DOT rules, ability to lift 75 pounds, and willingness to work weekends and overtime.

Qualifications

• CDL Class A or B required.
• 1+ year CDL driving experience or ability to drive 2+ trucks.
• Knowledge of DOT rules and OSHA standards.
• Able to pass a pre-employment drug screen.
• Willing to work weekends and overtime.
• Reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Operate commercial vehicles, such as dump trucks, following traffic laws and safety regulations.
• Secure cargo to prevent damage during transit.
• Perform basic vehicle maintenance checks (fluids, tires, brakes).
• Maintain quality workmanship and professional conduct.
• Represent Grayson Carter and Son Contracting, Inc. professionally.

Job description

• Operate commercial vehicles, such as dump trucks, in accordance with traffic laws and safety regulations
• Ensure proper handling and securing of cargo to prevent damage during transit
• Adhere to all federal, state, and local driving regulations, including hours of service, weight limits, and vehicle inspections
• Perform basic vehicle maintenance tasks, such as checking fluid levels, tire pressure, and brakes, to ensure safe operation
• Maintain a high level of quality work at all times
• Maintain good relationships with Technicians, Foreman, Superintendents, Inspectors, Developers, and other co-workers at all times
• Follow all safety rules and regulations while performing work tasks
• Perform other duties as assigned
• Represent and promote Grayson Carter and Son in a professional and honest manner

Job Qualifications/Requirements

• CDL Class A or B Required
• 1+ year experience as CDL Driver and/or can drive 2+ trucks
• Knowledge of DOT Rules and Regulations
• Ability to communicate and convey information effectively
• Must be physically able to stand, walk, sit, crouch, kneel, climb, and periodically lift 75 pounds
• Knowledge of OSHA Standards
• Ability to obtain Arsenal Badge and FBI Badge preferred, but not required
• Dependable transportation
• Wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) on all job sites as required
• Work weekends and overtime as needed
• Committed to attending work each day
• Able to pass a pre-employment drug screen
