Job Overview

Hi‑Way Paving is a general contractor specializing in concrete paving, storm drainage, and excavation on highways and airfields. We are seeking a local Heavy Haul CDL Driver in Nashville, TN who will operate low‑boy trailers and other construction equipment.

What You’ll Do

• Safely operate a low‑boy trailer to transport construction equipment.
• Move equipment between job sites, yard locations, and batch plants.
• Perform secure loading, unloading, and proper load tie‑down procedures.
• Operate water trucks, vacuum trucks, dump trucks, and other equipment when needed.
• Assist with basic field support tasks.
• Perform daily vehicle inspections and routine maintenance checks.
• Coordinate with supervisors and field teams to ensure efficient equipment flow.
• Follow all DOT regulations and company safety procedures.

Requirements

• Heavy haul / low‑boy trailer experience.
• Manual transmission experience.
• Proven experience with load securement (chains, binders, blocking/bracing) in compliance with DOT standards.
• Strong focus on safety, precision, and equipment care.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced, field‑based environment.
• Previous experience contributing to a concrete paving crew at airfields or airports (preferred).
• Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL A).
• Ability to gain clearance for restricted/high‑security zones (e.g., airport AOA, military bases).
• Physical ability to lift 50 lbs, climb, walk, kneel, squat, push, pull, and enter confined spaces.
