Job summary

A Plus Tree in Los Angeles is seeking a Commercial Driver/Groundsperson. The role combines driving Class A vehicles with hands-on groundsperson duties on tree care job sites.

A valid CDL, clean driving record, and DOT compliance are required, along with physical ability to lift heavy loads and work outdoors in all conditions. The position offers a competitive hourly rate, benefits including health/dental/vision, and bonus eligibility.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A CDL with Air Brake endorsement required.
• Minimum 3 years of commercial driving experience.
• Clean driving record; MVR checked; no major violations in 60 months.
• Full DOT compliance including logs and HOS rules.
• Ability to lift 75+ lbs. and perform physical labor as a groundsperson.
• Strong communication with crew and clients.
• 21+ years old to operate vehicles.
• Availability for early start times, overtime, and possible weekends.

Responsibilities

• Operate Class A commercial vehicles to and from job sites.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections per DOT and safety standards.
• Service and maintain trucks and equipment; keep them clean.
• Coordinate with crew leader on repairs and safety.
• Safely operate equipment on job sites and safeguard the public.
• Assist with tree removals, pruning, rigging, and debris disposal.
• Unloading, laying out, and stowing materials and tools at sites.
• Communicate with clients and document job checklists.
• Attend weekly safety meetings and daily briefings.
• Follow all safety standards, PPE requirements, and instructions.
