Job summary

GFL Environmental is seeking a CDL driver to operate frontload and ancillary equipment on designated routes. The role includes daily vehicle inspections, DOT logging, and routine interaction with customers to address inquiries and maintain service quality.

Responsibilities include safe vehicle operation, adherence to safety policies, and accurate reporting. Candidates should have a CDL, be at least 21, and possess about 1 year of commercial driving experience or CDL school completion.

Qualifications

  • HS diploma or GED required or equivalent.
  • Possess a valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
  • Must be at least 21 years old.
  • Minimum 1 year of commercial driving experience or CDL school certificate.
  • Able to meet safety-sensitive criteria and safely operate the truck.

Responsibilities

  • Drive commercial frontload or ancillary equipment along routes to collect waste.
  • Open container enclosures or gates to access cans and dump into facilities.
  • Perform daily pre- and post-trip inspections and file vehicle condition report.
  • Interact courteously with customers along the route and relay issues to management.
  • Keep area clean; remove loose trash around truck and containers.
  • Maintain DOT logbook and route productivity sheets as required.
  • Maneuver truck in tight spaces and use GPS to locate addresses.
  • Follow lockout/tagout and safety procedures; monitor debris during dumping.
  • Adhere to DOT, OSHA, FMCSA, and EPA regulations; perform other duties as assigned.
