Job summary

Pilgrim\u2019s is seeking an Equipment Transport Driver to safely and efficiently transport heavy equipment to farms, shops, and plants. The role uses a low boy trailer, adheres to schedules, and upholds safety and quality standards.

You will work with live haul and farm staff to ensure accurate delivery and documentation while following regulatory requirements. The position requires 12 months of tractor/trailer experience and the ability to lift 50 lbs, with night shifts and weekend work as

Qualifications

• 12 months of verifiable tractor/trailer experience within the previous 36 months.
• If the driver has a positive test for drugs or alcohol in the previous 5 years, they are not eligible.
• Ability to communicate effectively with others and follow written and verbal directions.

Responsibilities

• Operate commercial vehicles safely and efficiently.
• Conduct equipment inspections following company guidelines and report issues to the Supervisor.
• Operate trucks to maintain product quality and integrity.
• Communicate effectively with associates, maintenance staff, growers, and supervisors.
• Maintain equipment and keep trucks and work areas clean, neat, and orderly.
• Pick up each load as directed.
• Responsible for fueling and dropping/hooking heavy equipment and fan trailers.
• Follow the housekeeping schedule with proper PPE.
• Foster a positive work environment through teamwork.
• Other duties as assigned.

The Equipment Transport Driver is responsible for the safe and efficient transport of heavy equipment to company poultry farms, truck shops and processing plants for preventative maintenance , utiliz ing a low boy trailer . This role operates and maintains commercial hauling equipment, follows established delivery schedules, and upholds company standards for safety, quality, and reliability. The driver works closely with live haul personnel, live production teams, and farm staff to ensure accurate delivery , proper documentation, and effective communication. By adhering to transportation regulations, biosecurity protocols, and company policies, the Equipment Transport Driver plays a vital role in supporting operational continuity, and the overall success of Pilgrim’s supply chain.

Responsibilities:

• Operate commercial vehicles safely and efficiently.

• Communicate effectively—both verbally and in writing—with associates, maintenance staff, growers, and supervisors regarding farm conditions, and other relevant information.
• Maintain equipment and keep trucks and work areas clean, neat, and orderly.
• Pick up each load as directed
• Responsible for fueling and dropping/hooking heavy equipment and fan trailers
• Follow the housekeeping schedule, using proper techniques and required PPE.
• Foster a positive work environment through cooperative communication and teamwork.
• Other duties as assigned.

What You’ll Need:

• Certifications & Licenses: applicants must have 12 months of verifiable tractor/trailer experience within the previous 36 months.
• if the driver has a positive test for drugs or alcohol in the previous 5 years, they are not eligible.
• Skills: Ability to communicate effectively with others in a manner that maintains harmony with co-workers, ability to follow both written and verbal directions, appropriate skill to drive a truck safely, working knowledge of driving and traffic rules, good hand and eye coordination required.

Ability to lift 50 lbs. or more

Must have the ability to operate a manual CMV.
