Job summary

Madison County seeks a Solid Waste Operator to perform heavy equipment operation, baling, and disposal tasks at landfills and container sites. The role includes routine maintenance, keeping trip and maintenance logs, and assisting the public with solid waste disposal. Work hours are 8:00 a.m.

to 5:00 p.m., with a 12:00–1:00 lunch break; occasional breaks of 15 minutes morning and afternoon. Valid Montana CDL required with Class A2 and air brake endorsement, plus background check and drug/alcohol

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must hold Montana CDL with Combination Vehicle Class A2 and air brake endorsement.
• Applicant must pass physical exam and drug/alcohol screening as required.

Responsibilities

• Operate backhoe, loader, forklift, compactor and bale cardboard/plastic.
• Drive to landfills and container sites to load, haul and dispose loads.
• Bale cardboard/plastic and assist drivers with loading.
• Maintain and repair equipment; keep logs of trips and maintenance.
• Assist the public and keep landfill/container sites clean and safe.
