Job summary

SRS Distribution Inc. in Sacramento, CA is seeking a CDL Driver & Delivery Helper to operate a commercial motor vehicle safely, load/unload building materials, and deliver to customer sites while delivering world-class service.

Responsibilities include pre-trip inspections, loading materials onto flatbed or boom truck, delivering, maintaining records, and complying with DOT regulations. Must have Class B CDL (Class A preferred), strong safety mindset, and excellent communication.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid commercial driver's license (CDL).
• Minimum Class B License, Class A strongly preferred.
• Must have a clear three (3) year Motor Vehicle Report (MVR).
• Must have overall knowledge of Department of Transportation regulations.
• Boom or Crane experience required.
• High School diploma or GED.
• Safety Compliance: Adheres to all transportation safety regulations.
• Time Management: Ensures on-time deliveries and efficient scheduling.
• Technical Skills: Uses transportation systems and performs vehicle checks.
• Communication: Maintains clear, professional interactions.
• Problem Solving: Quickly resolves transport-related issues.
• Customer Service: Delivers courteous, reliable service.
• Organization: Keeps accurate records and documentation.
• Teamwork: Collaborates effectively with logistics and operations teams.

Work as a team player to deliver, load/unload building materials while providing a world class customer service experience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform pre-trip inspections of equipment, paperwork and loaded product to ensure accuracy of order.
• Safely load building materials onto flatbed or boom truck.
• Safely deliver and unload materials to an assigned area as directed by the customer.
• Prepare the truck for the following day and maintain the truck and the equipment.
• Maintain records required for compliance with State and Federal regulations.
• Must report all accidents involving driver or company equipment.
• Stamina to lift heavy building materials up to 100+ lbs. for load/unload.
• Navigate routes to the job site.
• Excellent customer service skills and professional attitude.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to remain in a stationary position while driving a commercial vehicle 40% of the time.
• Must be able to lift heavy building materials up to 80 lbs. for loading/unloading.
• Frequently moves materials weighing up to 80 lbs. while unloading flatbed.
• Will constantly move from unloading materials from commercial motor vehicle onto job site.
• Will constantly operate commercial motor vehicle and/or boom vehicle.
• Will constantly position self to unload materials from flatbed or boom.
• Must be able to judge distance while delivering materials and/or operating boom.
• Must be able to communicate with management and coworkers and be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
• Constantly working in outside environment while making deliveries.

The base salary for this position typically falls within the range of $23.51 to $29.90 per hour. Starting wage may vary based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, the position being offered, location, education, training, and/or experience. SRS Distribution offers additional competitive and non-financial benefits. Hourly associates may be eligible for overtime based on business needs. Depending on the role, associates may also be eligible for performance-based bonus programs, commissions, car allowance or automobile and fuel program, and reimbursement for travel expenses in accordance with company travel policy.
