Job summary

Finch Turf in Kentucky seeks a dependable equipment transport driver to support sales and service with pickup and delivery. You will transport equipment between customer sites and dealer facilities, load and unload trucks, and verify orders before delivery.

Role requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a valid CDL Class A or B with at least two years hauling equipment. Forklift experience preferred. You must follow DOT/OSHA guidelines and keep accurate records.

Responsibilities

  • Supports sales and service with equipment pickup and delivery.
  • Transports equipment between customers and dealer facilities/suppliers.
  • Loads and unloads trucks.
  • Follows FMCSA cargo securement guidelines.
  • Verifies order readiness and checks equipment condition.
  • Reviews paperwork and warranty registrations with customers and obtains signatures.
  • Instructs customers on basic operation of equipment.
  • Tags and secures equipment on company property.
  • Keeps records and assists with setting service appointments for maintenance/inspections.
  • Maintains DOT/OSHA and company certifications.
  • Keeps trucks in good repair and informs management for inspections/license renewals.
  • Performs pre- and post-trip inspections.
  • Accounts for time and distance traveled.
  • Operates smartphones and elog tablets proficiently.
  • Keeps electronic devices updated.
  • Other duties as assigned by Service Manager.

Job description

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Supports the sales and service departments with equipment pickup and delivery.
  • Transports equipment to and from customers and/or between dealer facilities and/or suppliers.
  • Properly loads and unloads trucks.
  • Follows Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration cargo securement guidelines.
  • Verifies that the complete order is ready to be delivered and checks the condition of equipment.
  • Reviews the paperwork and warranty registration with the customer and obtains the necessary signatures.
  • Instruct customers on basic operation of equipment (when necessary).
  • Properly tags and secures equipment being transported onto company owned or rented property.
  • Keeps records and assists with setting service appointments for all maintenance and inspections of assigned vehicles.
  • Maintains all required certifications in line with DOT, OSHA, and company policy.
  • Keeps trucks in good repair by making sure necessary maintenance is performed. Informs management when truck needs inspection and/or license renewal.
  • Performs routine pre and post-trip inspections.
  • Accounts for all time and for all distance traveled in performing assigned duties.
  • Proficient at the use of a smart phone and elog tablet.
  • Keeps all electronic devices up to date and functioning.
  • Other duties as assigned by Service Manager.

  • Overnight stay may be required occasionally.
EDUCATION
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Class A or B license required and minimum of two (2) years' experience hauling equipment.
