Job summary

Alter Trading is seeking a CDL Driver to operate trucks for scrap material pickups in Sardis, MS. The role focuses on safe, efficient movement of loads between the yard and customer sites, following all safety protocols.

Responsibilities include yard movement, material handling, and adherence to PPE and company safety standards. A Class A or B CDL with 1–3 years of verifiable experience is required.

Qualifications

• CDL license required (Class A or B for straight truck).
• 1–3 years of verifiable driving experience preferred.
• Must be able to lift 30–50 lbs and 100+ lbs with help.
• General knowledge of ferrous/non-ferrous materials and equipment experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate a truck to pick up steel-sided flat beds or roll-off containers within the specified area.
• Wait to be loaded and deliver loads to customer or Alter as directed.
• Drive semis within the yard to move scrap material.
• Operate yard equipment to load or move scrap material as needed.
• Wear all required PPE and follow company safety standards at all times.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervision.

Under supervision, operates a truck picking up steel sided flat bed or roll-off containers within specified area.

• Wait to be loaded by either Alter or customer and drive loads to customer or Alter.


• Drive semis around the yard while moving scrap material


• May operate equipment within the yard, loading or moving scrap material


• Wear all necessary PPE when working in the yard


• Follow company safety standards at all times


• Other responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED preferred but not required. Must have Class A CDL or Class B CDL (for straight truck) license and minimum 1-3 years verifiable experience. Candidate must be able to lift a minimum of 30-50 lbs. and 100+lbs on 2-person lift. General knowledge of difference between ferrous and non-ferrous material preferred and equipment experience preferred.
