Job summary

Dixie Supply in Saraland, AL is seeking a skilled Class A CDL Driver for local deliveries of metal roofing panels and components. You will operate flatbed tractors with piggybacks, load and unload materials, and serve as the face of the company with customers and job sites.

This role offers a day shift, local routes, home every night, and guaranteed 50–55 hours per week. Benefits include health, dental, and a 401(k), with safety and DOT compliance as top priorities.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
• Minimum of 3 years of commercial driving experience preferred.
• Clean driving record and ability to pass a DOT physical/drug screen.
• Ability to physically manage the unloading of metal products.

Responsibilities

• Safe Transportation: Safely operate a Class A CDL tractor-trailer, primarily using flatbeds to transport metal roofing, panels, and trim.
• Loading/Unloading: Secure loads and help unload materials at job sites, which may involve heavy lifting.
• Customer Service: Act as the face of the company, interacting professionally with customers, contractors, and job site personnel.
• Compliance: Adhere to all DOT regulations, safety protocols, and company policies.
• Vehicle Maintenance: Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and report any safety concerns or maintenance needs.
• Documentation: Complete logs, invoices, and delivery paperwork, including using phone systems to take photos of deliveries.
• Schedule: Typically local, day-shift hours, allowing for home-every-night consistency.

Working Conditions:

• Office and field-based role with possible travel to contractor sites,customer locations, and other Dixie/Baker locations.
• Occasional lifting of samples or materials (up to 100 lbs.)
• Must be comfortable in a construction environment and wear appropriate PPE when needed.

Preferred Skills:

• Computer proficiency with familiarity or ability to quickly learnGeoTab or other software.
• Understanding of roofing products and/or construction materials/ language.
