Job summary

You will organize stock, load/unload, handle paperwork, and ensure safety and professional vehicle presentation. This on-site position supports a growing team under Quick Supply Company.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Operates a truck according to applicable state and federal transportation laws.
• Transports loads safely and in a timely manner over required route, obeying all traffic laws and safety regulations.
• Maneuvering truck and trailer into loading/unloading areas and following loading crew signals.
• Assists with loading and unloading of goods using equipment when needed; returns empty skids and equipment to designated area.
• Keeps signed invoices, bills of lading, and other paperwork; delivers documentation after route completion.
• Keeps delivery vehicles clean and professional in appearance.
• Advise warehouse manager of maintenance items needed on vehicles and assist with repairs.
• Organizes products and rotates stock as received; daily upkeep of warehouse and yard.

Job description

At our warehouse and outside yard, our drivers are responsible for material pickups and deliveries to customers in a safe and timely manner. Drivers also work with our warehouse team to organize, rotate stock, assist in maintenance of equipment, and load and unload material.

Responsibilities of the Position

• Operates a truck according to applicable state and federal transportation laws
• Transports loads safely and in a timely manner over required route, obeying all traffic laws and observing all safety regulations
• Deftly maneuvers truck and trailer into loading and unloading areas; follows loading crew signals
• Assists with loading and unloading of goods and materials, using specialized equipment when warranted; unloads empty skids and returns all equipment to the designated area
• Maintains signed invoices, shipping bills of lading, and other required paperwork; delivers documentation to shipping office or other appropriate staff when the delivery route is complete
• Keeping delivery vehicles clean and looking professional
• Keeping warehouse manager aware of maintenance items needed on vehicles and assisting with any repair and maintenance of equipment
• Organizing products and rotating stock as product is received
• Daily upkeep with products to maintain a clean and organized warehouse and yard

Job Requirements/Qualifications

• Strong interpersonal and customer service skills with the ability to speak professionally and courteously with customers and staff at delivery points
• Ability to remain focused in a busy environment
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Minimum, valid Class B CDL

Physical Requirements

• Must adhere to all safety rules at all times
• Must be able to lift 55+ pounds at a time
• Willingness to work long hours, particularly during high peak business season, sometimes in undesirable ranges of climate and weather conditions
• Frequent exposure to heavy equipment
• May need to work in all weather conditions
• Must be able to travel frequently
• Prolonged periods of sitting in a trailer cab
