Hourly Full-Time: (Monday-Friday) Day Shift Hours

Summary: Truck Drivers must possess a commercial driver’s license and current DOT medical card and be trained in safe driving best practices. Drivers will be responsible for daily customer deliveries and may assist with loading and unloading their vehicle and are responsible for ensuring the product is secure and delivered in a timely manner. Must comply and support all applicable GMP’s, Site Security, and Food Packaging Defense requirements that are referenced in the facilities of GFSI food packaging safety program.

Job Responsibilities
  • Keep all DOT daily logs and fuel records accurate and current.
  • Make sure all deliveries are on time.
  • Inspect tractor and trailer & keep trailers clean & swept out.
  • Provide updates to Shipping/Customer Service on deliveries as needed.
  • Ensure all loads are strapped and properly secured.
  • Operate fork truck.
  • Move around loaded pallets, skids, boxes, products, or materials.
  • Unload and stack material by raising and lowering lifting device.
  • Weigh materials or products and record weight schedules.
  • Ensure all units are recorded on proper paperwork.
  • Fill out pre-inspection forms.
  • Inspect bales for damage.
Skills and Qualifications
  • Truck drivers require five (5) years previous driving experience.
  • Strong knowledge of safety and DOT regulations, including traffic laws and driver rest rules.
  • Clean driving record and licenses.
  • Agree to annual driving records checks.
  • Physically fit and willing to submit to medical exam every two years.
  • Hand-eye coordination to maintain a fast reaction time; visual and hearing acuity per federal regulations.
Physical Demands

Employee must be able to occasionally lift/carry 1-20 pounds and lift 21-50 pounds less often from the ground to waist height. This job requires some reaching, kneeling, squatting, climbing stairs, hand/wrist work including power grasping, pushing and pulling materials, walking, standing and sitting while driving. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

Work Environment

Employee must wear protective glasses, safety steel-toed shoes, safety bump caps and use hearing protection as required. Most of the work is road driving but with occasional work outside. The plant and warehouse can be chilly in the winter (above freezing) and hot in the summer (non air-conditioned). The plant is generally clean of debris and clutter, but the manufacturing process generates a fair amount of corrugated dust. Position may require overtime including possible weekends.
