Job summary

Mallory Safety & Supply is seeking an experienced Class A CDL Truck Driver for our Fremont, CA location. The role focuses on local port drayage and transfers, with occasional longer trips for vendor pickups.

You will support our supply chain by moving freight between Fremont and other branches, including occasional out-of-state work. The position offers company-paid hotel accommodations on out-of-state trips and a daily meal allowance, plus extensive benefits and paid time off.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A CDL and clean driving record.
• 2+ years of verifiable Class A driving experience.
• TWIC card or willingness to obtain promptly.
• Ability to pass DOT physical and drug screening.
• Willingness to travel out of state 4–6 days monthly.
• Experience with port drayage or container transport is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Local Port Operations: pick up and deliver containers to/from the Port of Oakland.
• Branch Transfers: shuttle runs and freight transfers between Fremont and other branches.
• Regional Travel: about one 4–6 day round trip monthly to Midwest or Texas.
• Freight Handling: coordinate drop-and-hook and live-loading at vendor sites.
• Safety & Compliance: maintain logs with ELD and perform pre/post trips.
• Vehicle Care: operate equipment safely and report maintenance needs.
• Professional Communication: coordinate with vendors and internal teams.
• Additional Support: assist with other transportation duties as needed.

You'll primarily handle local port drayage and transfers between our Fremont operations and other locations, while occasionally traveling out of state to pick up vendor freight and bring it back to Fremont.This is a great fit for an experienced driver who enjoys the consistency of local work but doesn't mind hitting the road for an occasional longer trip.**As a Class A CDL Truck Driver, here's what a typical month might include:*** **Local Port Operations:** Pick up and deliver shipping containers to and from the Port of Oakland.* **Branch Transfers:** Complete routine shuttle runs and freight transfers between our Fremont location and other branches.* **Regional Travel:** Complete approximately one round-trip run per month to vendor locations in the Midwest or Texas, typically requiring 4–6 consecutive days of travel.* **Freight Handling:** Coordinate drop-and-hook and live-loading operations at vendor locations.* **Safety & Compliance:** Maintain accurate electronic logs using an Electronic Logging Device (ELD) and complete thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections.* **Vehicle Care:** Operate equipment safely and report any vehicle maintenance or safety concerns promptly.* **Professional Communication:** Coordinate with vendors, branch teams and other contacts to help ensure timely pickups and deliveries.* **Additional Support:** Assist with other transportation-related duties as needed.**Pay, Benefits & Perks**We believe in taking care of the people who keep our business moving.
