Job summary

ABC Supply Co. Inc. is seeking a CDL Driver to join our team in Texas. You will ensure safe deliveries from the facility to the customer, documenting each step with photos and maintaining compliance with all regulations.

You will work closely with the Delivery Material Handler, manage load checks, and may perform warehouse duties as needed while not performing over-the-road travel. Health and retirement benefits are available to eligible employees.

Qualifications

• CDL – Class A or B required
• Ability to lift 75-100 pounds repeatedly (typical cargo 70 pound bundles of shingles)
• Pre-employment drug screen and random drug screens required
• Straight truck experience preferred
• Trailer mounted forklift truck experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Treat customers in a friendly and professional manner
• Conduct a safe work zone during each job site
• Adhere to assigned delivery schedule and follow all directives precisely
• Document every delivery step by taking and uploading photos with our camera phone system
• Complete a thorough load check on your truck before leaving the branch, ensuring materials are secured and the truck complies with regulations
• Work with Delivery Material Handler to determine where to set materials and unload them
• Complete and file logs and government paperwork in a timely, precise manner
• Provide the customer with an invoice on completion of each delivery and collect the full amount on COD deliveries
• Responsibilities may include warehouse work, including loading/unloading onto or off of trucks or into warehouse
• This position does not require over the road travel

Specific duties may include:

• Treating customers in a friendly and professional manner

• Adhering to assigned delivery schedule and following all job directives precisely
• Documenting every step of each delivery by taking and uploading photos with our camera phone system
• Completing a thorough load check on your truck before leaving the branch, ensuring that all delivery materials are firmly secured and all parts of your truck are in compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations
• Working in cooperation with the Delivery Material Handler to determine where to set the materials and unloading them
• Completing and filing all logs and required government paperwork in a precise and timely manner
• Providing the customer with an invoice on completion of each delivery and collecting the entire due amount on COD deliveries
• Responsibilities may include warehouse work, including loading and unloading of materials on to or off of trucks or into warehouse as assigned
• This position does not require over the road travel
