Job summary

Eckart LLC is hiring a Delivery Driver-CDL to perform warehouse tasks and deliver product to customers and jobsites. The role includes loading, unloading, securing loads, and operating company fleet vehicles in a safe, compliant manner.

You must have a CDL, be able to lift up to 75 lbs, and maintain a good driving record. The position offers a team-oriented, low-stress environment with strong emphasis on safety, reliability, and timely deliveries.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid CDL prior to hiring.
• 1–3 years CDL driving experience preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Customer service experience preferred.
• Final candidates will be required to undergo and pass a pre-employment drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Be appropriately dressed for the elements (PPE as required).
• Load, unload, sort and move products and materials by hand or with basic equipment.
• Operate, navigate and drive company fleet vehicles safely and legally.
• Accurately pull material from location to fill orders.
• Pack, label and place filled orders for delivery.
• Operate forklift as needed.
• Load delivery truck safely per policy.
• Inspect truck and trailer per policy and DOT standards.
• Report vehicle safety issues to supervisor immediately.
• Plan delivery routes with shipping supervisor to maximize efficiency.
• Meet/beat delivery deadlines through route planning.
• Read work orders or follow oral instructions for assignments.
• Assist in loading/unloading fleet trucks as needed.

CDL - DELIVERY DRIVER

The position of Delivery Driver-CDL will work in all aspects of warehouse operations, with the primary duty of delivering product to customers and jobsites, including the loading, unloading, securing and transporting of such materials.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

This position may be required to perform additional tasks, responsibilities, or duties as assigned:

• Be appropriately dressed for the elements (Wearing appropriate PPE as required)
• Perform general physical activities to load, unload, sort and move products and materials by hand or using basic material handling equipment
• Operate, navigate and drive all company fleet vehicles in safe, efficient manner following the rules of the road set by government legislation
• Accurately pull material from location to fill orders
• Pack, label and put filled orders in proper location for delivery
• Operate forklift
• Load delivery truck in a safe manner, according to company policy
• Inspect truck & trailer according to company policy and DOT standards, to ensure it is in good working order
• Communicate any vehicle safety issues you have immediately to your supervisor
• Plan delivery routes, with co-ordination from the shipping supervisor, to maximize efficiency while on the road
• Plan routes in a manner to meet and/or exceed delivery deadlines
• Read work orders or receive oral instructions for work assignments
• Participate in the loading and/or unloading of company fleet trucksFollow Department of Transportation policy and procedures regarding Load Securement, Transportation of Dangerous Goods and operation of a commercial vehicle
• Provide information for the completion of incident reports in relation to health and safety issues
• Maintain a good driving record

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION

• Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent required
• Customer Service experience preferred
• Must already have commercial driver license prior to hiring
