Job summary

Veritiv in Camarillo, CA is seeking a dependable Route/Delivery Driver to make 15–20 stops daily, safeguard cargo, and follow DOT regulations. You will drive from warehouse to customer locations, coordinate with dispatch, prepare receipts, and collect delivery charges when required.

Must hold a valid Class A CDL and have at least 12 months of driving experience with a clean Motor Vehicle Record. A forklift certificate is preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• Verifiable Class A license and 12+ months driving experience compliant with all regulatory requirements.
• High School Diploma/GED preferred.

Responsibilities

• Drive to various destinations with approx. 15-20 stops daily.
• Maintain physical security of cargo to prevent shifting and damage; safety first.
• Maintain truck log per state and federal regulations.
• Inspect truck equipment and tires, lights, brakes, oil and water.
• Transport items from warehouse to plant or between customer locations.
• Communicate with supervisor/dispatch for pickup and delivery instructions.
• Prepare receipts and collect payment for goods delivered and delivery charges.
• Check delivered quantities for accuracy and inspect product at pickup.
• Operate auxiliary equipment mounted on trucks (hydraulics, hoists).
• Move materials between receiving, storage and production areas using machinery.
• Sort and place materials on racks per predetermined criteria.
• Fill requisitions and work orders for materials or stock items.
• Mark materials and record amounts received or distributed.

Job Responsibilities:

• Drive to various destinations with approx. 15-20 stops daily.
• Maintain physical security of cargo to prevent shifting and damage; ensuring safety is your number one priority.
• Maintain truck log, per state and federal regulations.
• Inspect truck equipment and suppliers such as tires, lights, brakes, gas, oil and water.
• Drive vehicle to transport items from warehouse to plant or pick up items from several locations for shipment Pickup/Delivery.
• Maintain phone contact with supervisor and/or dispatch to receive pick-up and delivery instructions.
• Prepare receipts and collect payment for goods delivered and delivery charges when required.
• Pick up product at customers and suppliers and check delivered product and quantities for accuracy.
• Operate auxiliary equipment mounted on trucks such as hydraulics, hoists, etc.
• Convey material and items from receiving or production areas to storage or to other designated areas - using dedicated machinery.
• Sort and place materials or items on racks shelves, or bins per predetermined sequence such size, type, style, color or product code.
• Fill requisitions, work orders, or requests for materials, tools, or other stock items.
• Mark materials with identifying information and record the amount of materials or items received or distributed.

Additional Responsibilities & Qualifications:

• Must observe all Department of Transportation and driving regulations resulting in a safe driving record and a clean Motor Vehicle Record.
• Must have a valid Class A CDL.
• Position requires a minimum of 21 years of age.
• Forklift certified preferred but not required.

Rate of pay: $28/hr.

Work Experience:

• Strong customer service skills (friendly, courteous and helpful).
• Strong problem-solving and attention to detail skills are required.
• Verifiable Class A license and 12+ months driving experience compliant with all regulatory requirements.

Education:

• High School Diploma/GED Preferred
