Job Overview

SA Recycling is one of the largest scrap metal recyclers in the United States. We are expanding rapidly and are committed to safety and community support, including the military community.

Responsibilities

1. Load and unload trucks hauling scrap metal.
2. Inspect and determine metal grade for inventory tracking.
3. Perform DOT daily safety inspections.
4. Communicate with the office and customers regarding commodities.
5. Drive semi-trucks/trailers to deliver loads to steel mills and yards.
6. Ensure safety protocols, including wearing seat belts and being visible on camera.
7. Maintain work areas and perform basic vehicle maintenance.
8. Assist in maintaining a safe and clean work environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of CDL driving experience with a consistent job history.
• Must pass a DOT physical, drug test, and background check.
• Clean MVR with no recent violations; consent to Clearinghouse.
• High school diploma or GED preferred; foreign education acceptable.
• Bi-lingual skills (English & Spanish) are a plus.
• Effective communication and basic math skills.

Physical and Work Environment

• Work mainly in scrap metal recycling and shredder yard environments.
• Operate trucks up to 18 wheelers, hydraulic trucks, and other equipment.
• Physical demand is light to moderate, including climbing ladders and repetitive motions.
• Sensory demands include hearing, vision, touch, smell, and taste.
