Job summary

Kelly is hiring a CDL Class A Driver / ELDT Program Trainer to join our team at Samsung in Taylor, TX. You will lead the ELDT program across classroom, range, and behind-the-wheel instruction, and maintain required certifications and FMCSA compliance.

We offer $40.00/hour with benefits and opportunities for growth. A valid CDL Class A and at least 2 years of driving experience, plus strong documentation and training skills, are required.

Qualifications

  • CDL Class A with a clean driving record.
  • Minimum 2 years of Class A CDL experience.
  • Strong communication in classroom and training environments.
  • Detail-oriented documentation and training compliance.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and training systems.
  • Experience maneuvering trailers, ISO tankers, and chassis.
  • Preferred: prior driver trainer or ELDT instructor experience.
  • Preferred: knowledge of Training Provider Registry requirements or HazMat endorsement.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and deliver all aspects of the ELDT program, including classroom, range, and behind-the-wheel instruction.
  • Complete and maintain J. J. Keller Safe & Smart ELDT Trainer Certification.
  • Administer coaching sessions, skills evaluations, and proficiency assessments to CDL candidates.
  • Develop site-specific training materials, standard operating procedures, and qualification processes.
  • Track training metrics, prepare drivers for final qualification, and ensure all documentation meets FMCSA standards.
  • Maintain audit-ready records and support Training Provider Registry (TPR) compliance.
  • Safely operate and maneuver Class A vehicles, ISO tankers, trailers, and related equipment on-site.
  • Support transportation, logistical, and operational activities — including equipment movement and coordination with site teams.

What’s a typical day as CDL Class A Driver / ELDT Program Trainer? You’ll be:
  • Managing and delivering all aspects of the Entry-Level Driver Training (ELDT) program, including classroom, range, and behind-the-wheel instruction
  • Completing and maintaining J. J. Keller Safe & Smart® ELDT Trainer Certification
  • Administering coaching sessions, skills evaluations, and proficiency assessments to CDL candidates
  • Developing site-specific training materials, standard operating procedures, and qualification processes
  • Tracking training metrics, preparing drivers for final qualification, and ensuring all documentation meets FMCSA standards
  • Maintaining audit-ready records and supporting Training Provider Registry (TPR) compliance
  • Safely operating and maneuvering Class A vehicles, ISO tankers, trailers, and related equipment on‑site
  • Supporting transportation, logistical, and operational activities — including equipment movement and coordination with site teams
This job might be an outstanding fit if you:
  • Hold a valid CDL Class A license with an excellent driving record
  • Bring at least 2 years of experience as a Class A commercial driver and have strong knowledge of FMCSA regulations
  • Are able to communicate clearly and confidently, both in classroom settings and practical training environments
  • Excel in maintaining detailed documentation, records, and training compliance files
  • Possess skills working with Microsoft Office and training systems
  • Have experience maneuvering trailers, ISO tankers, and chassis equipment
  • (Preferred) Have prior driver trainer, fleet instructor, or ELDT program instructor experience, or a background in transportation training or safety
  • (Preferred) Possess knowledge of Training Provider Registry requirements, experience developing training SOPs, or a HazMat endorsement
