Job summary

Maxwood Furniture in Charleston, SC is seeking an experienced CDL Class A Driver for our Transportation team. You will run local drayage routes from the Port of Charleston to Maxwood facilities, with no-touch freight and drop-and-hook operations, and you’ll be home every day.

This role suits drivers who know the Charleston area, maintain safe DOT-compliant logs, and want steady local work without long-haul trips or overnight stays.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A CDL.
• 5+ years of CDL Class A driving experience.
• Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
• Valid TWIC Card.
• Ability to pass a DOT physical and drug screening.
• Port and/or drayage experience preferred.
• Familiarity with the Port of Charleston and Charleston-area routes is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Run local drayage routes from Wando Welch Terminal and other Charleston-area port facilities to Maxwood locations.
• Safely operate Class A equipment while following DOT regulations.
• Perform drop-and-hook moves with no-touch freight.
• Complete vehicle inspections and required logs.
• Communicate with dispatch to ensure safe, efficient, and on-time deliveries.
