Job summary

Mortenson is seeking a Truck Driver to operate Water, Dump, Haul, and Tractor Trailer/Lowboy trucks in accordance with project needs and Mortenson safety policies. You’ll perform routine maintenance, monitor equipment, and maintain a clean work area while coordinating with diverse teams.

The role requires CDL Class A, a valid license with endorsements, and a strong teamwork orientation with safety at the forefront. Visa sponsorship is not offered.

Qualifications

• Related construction experience preferred.
• CDL Class A required and valid license with endorsements as required by law.
• Ability to read safety rules, load charts and manuals.
• Move levers, shift gears, depress pedals and maneuver steering for equipment.
• Move 50 lbs with assistance when needed.

Responsibilities

• Operate Water Truck, Dump Truck, Haul Truck, Tractor Trailer/Lowboy as project requires.
• Follow safety regulations and Mortenson policies.
• Maintain clean and organized work areas; perform routine maintenance.
• Observe equipment and report malfunctions; follow pre-task cards.
• Build relationships across diverse teams and work independently when needed.

Job description

Mortenson is currently seeking a Truck Driver that will be responsible for operating trucks as directed and specified while adhering to all rules and regulations as mandated by Mortenson safety policies and procedures.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Operate the following trucks based on project requirements: Water Truck, Dump Truck, Haul Truck, Tractor Trailer/Lowboy
• Follow prescribed safety regulations
• Ensure housekeeping is maintained in a clear and orderly fashion in assigned area
• Perform routine maintenance including lubricating, fueling, and cleaning
• Observe equipment operation to detect machine malfunctions
• Follow work plans and pre-task cards
• Build and maintain effective relationships with individuals from diverse backgrounds and organizational levels
• Perform all other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

• Related construction experience preferred
• CDL class A required
• Current driver’s license of proper classification and necessary endorsements as required by law
• Strong teamwork orientation
• Positive attitude and professional customer service skills
• Detail orientation
• Ability to move levers, shift gears, depress pedals, and maneuver steering wheel to operate equipment
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, and load charts
• Knowledge of equipment and their uses
• Understand and apply basic mathematical skills (adding, subtracting, division, and multiplication)
• Ability to work independently
• Active listening skills and effective communication including an openness to diverse input and feedback
• *Lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling: up to 50 lbs.
