Job summary

ASB Freight Co. is seeking regional Class A drivers for a dedicated Ohio–Chicago operation. Drivers run a repeating loop, averaging about 1,800 miles per week and return home each weekend for a 34‑hour reset.

Only 3 months of recent, verifiable tractor‑trailer experience is required. The role offers weekly earnings opportunities with a $1,350 weekly true-up and additional pay for detention, layover, and performance bonuses. Trainer opportunities exist for higher earnings.

Looking for a regional position that keeps you on a consistent lane instead of sending you all over the map?

We’re currently adding Class A drivers to a dedicated Ohio-to-Chicago operation. Drivers run a repeating loop between Ohio and the Chicago area, average approximately 1,800 miles per week, and return home each weekend for a 34-hour reset.

Only 3 months of recent, verifiable tractor-trailer experience required.

Your Week at a Glance

Drivers typically complete 3 Ohio/Chicago loops per week, with the opportunity for a 4th loop when freight and available hours allow.

• Dedicated Ohio Chicago freight
• Approximately 1,800 miles per week
• Home Saturday and Sunday for a 34-hour reset
• Occasional opportunity to take a 10-hour break at home during the week, depending on freight
• 100% no-touch freight
• Approximately 50–60% drop and hook
• Approximately 40–50% live unload
• Additional earning opportunity for a 4th loop when hours allow

Pay & Weekly True-Up

Eligible drivers receive a $1,350 weekly true-up, which is equivalent to approximately $0.75 per mile at 1,800 miles.

Additional compensation includes:

• $12.50/hour detention pay after the second hour
• $100/day layover or breakdown pay
• Performance-based mileage bonus opportunity
• Additional applicable accessorial pay

Earn Up to an Additional $0.03 Per Mile

The Drive to Thrive performance program provides the opportunity to earn up to an additional $0.03 CPM based on:

• Safety
• Mileage
• Productivity

Eligibility begins with the first full month after hire. Drivers must remain active company drivers at the time of payout and meet applicable program requirements.

Late-Model Equipment

Drivers operate 2021 or newer Freightliner Cascadias or Kenworths.

Want to Earn More? Become a Trainer

Qualified drivers can increase their earnings by training student drivers.

Trainer compensation includes:

• Extra $250 per week while training
• Additional $0.05 CPM on all miles over 1,875 per week
• Up to $400 Safe Student Bonus per student upgrade
• Potential for $20,000+ in additional annual earnings

Examples of additional trainer earnings:

1,875 miles: $343.75
2,000 miles: $350
2,500 miles: $375
3,000 miles: $400

Even when a trainer does not reach 1,875 miles, the $250 weekly trainer pay still applies while actively training a student.

Trainer Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of OTR experience
• At least 30 days employed with the company
• Safe driving record

Minimum Driver Qualifications

• Valid Class A CDL
• At least 3 months of recent, verifiable tractor-trailer experience
• Must meet company safety and hiring requirements
• Must be able to meet the schedule and availability requirements of the dedicated account
