Position Overview
Local Class A CDL CPM Drivers are team players who understand that timely, professional delivery is essential to our customers' satisfaction. Drivers are responsible for operating company trucks to transport goods efficiently and safely, while ensuring top-notch customer service. Responsibilities include properly loading cargo based on delivery sequence, responding to customer inquiries and reporting any concerns or complaints to management. Flexibility to navigate alternate routes due to traffic, roadwork, or other disruptions are essential. This position works closely with Sr. Dispatchers and managers to plan routes and track deliveries and also involves regular vehicle upkeep and inspections.
Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Safely and legally transport freight in a timely and efficient manner
- Hook/unhook trailers, secure freight, and install/remove tire chains when weather requires
- Load and unload trailers; lift, push, pull, and carry freight as needed
- Complete all required documentation and maintain records in compliance with federal and state regulations
- Ensure full compliance with DOT and company safety standards
- Perform pre- and post-trip inspections; report mechanical issues and coordinate necessary repairs
- Represent the company with professionalism at all times

Required Qualifications
- A valid Class A CDL Drivers License is required.
- Minimum of 36 months of full-time Class A tractor/trailer driving experience within the last 5 years.
- No more than two (2) moving violations while operating a personal or commercial motor vehicle in the last three(3) years.
- No serious traffic violations or convictions while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three (3) years.
- No clearinghouse violations in the last 5 years.
- Knowledge of all applicable DOT Regulations and Motor Carrier Safety Regulations.
- Ability to satisfy FMSCA/DOT requirements including a clean drug and alcohol screen and a passing DOTphysical.
- High level of reliability and commitment to the role.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to navigate interactions professionally.
- Must be able to read and speak the English language sufficiently to converse with the general public and respondto official inquiries to drivers.
- Must meet minimum age and insurability requirements (21 years of age or older) in accordance with companyinsurance policies and/or federal regulations governing commercial vehicle operation.
Physical Requirements
This position requires the physical ability to:
- Safely operate a commercial motor vehicle for extended periods
- Climb in and out of trucks, trailers, and loading docks multiple times per shift
- Lift, pull, push, or carry up to 60 pounds as needed for loading/unloading
- Squat, crouch, and reach intermittently throughout the shift (up to 2 hours)
- Stand and walk up to 10% of the shift
- Maintain manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination to operate vehicle controls
- Enter and exit the vehicle’s cab multiple times per shift (truck seats are generally 5-6’ off the ground; requiresclimbing 2-3 steps outside the cab and 1 step inside the cab before seating)
- Sit for extended periods while driving (up to 11 hours per day in accordance with Department of Transportation(DOT) regulations)
- Pass and maintain DOT medical certification, including vision, hearing, and physical fitness standards
- Participate in DOT and Company required alcohol and controlled substance testing program
- Work in extreme weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, snow).
Work Environment
This position primarily operates in and around commercial vehicles, including long periods spent driving on public roads,
highways, and at customer or vendor locations. The employee may be exposed to:
- All types of weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, snow)
- Varying traffic conditions, road hazards, and driving stressors
- Warehouse and loading dock environments, depending on delivery requirements
- Noise, vibration, and fumes from truck engines and other vehicles
- Occasional work in tight or enclosed spaces, including loading bays or truck cabs
Drivers are expected to maintain alertness and focus for extended periods and may spend the majority of the shift alone in
the vehicle. This role involves operating vehicles that are equipped with in-cab cameras, which may include both inward
and outward facing video recording. These systems are used for safety monitoring, training, and compliance purposes, in
accordance with company policy and applicable law.
Location/Remote Eligibility
This is a local driving position with daily routes originating from the local facility in (city, state). Drivers return home eachday.

Work hours may vary by shift assignment and may include evenings, weekends, holidays, and overtime based onbusiness needs.
