Job summary

Meyer is a growing, family-owned company seeking a CDL Class A Driver to transport aftermarket auto accessories from our distribution centers to Cross Docks on our fleet using a Dry Van Tractor Trailer and forklift.

The role offers home daily with a pay range of $25.00–$32.00 per hour, a Sunday through Thursday schedule starting at 4:00pm EST, and routes including Sinking Spring, PA; Carlisle, PA; Dover, NJ.

Qualifications

• One year of CDL experience driving a tractor trailer over 26,000 lbs.
• Valid Commercial Driver’s License, No Restrictions.
• Knowledge of applicable DOT Regulations and FMCSA rules.
• Meet medical, safety standards and pass drug/alcohol test.
• Acceptable background investigation results.
• Operate / Drive a forklift.

Responsibilities

• Transport and deliver freight to various locations safely and legally.
• Hook/unhook trailers; secure freight; install/remove tire chains as weather requires.
• Load/unload using a forklift; lifting/pulling/pushing freight.
• Operate a forklift and drive tractor-trailer.
• Complete paperwork and maintain records per laws.
• Ensure operations follow state and federal regulations.
• Inspect/maintain equipment and report defects.
• Represent the company professionally.

CDL class A Driver duties include but are not limited to:

• Transport and deliver freight within the company to different locations/regions in a safe, efficient, timely and legal manner
• Hook and unhook trailers; secure freight; install and remove tire chains as required by weather
• Load and unload trailers using a forklift with occasional lifting, pulling, pushing and carrying freight
• Operate / Drive a forklift
• Complete all necessary paperwork and maintain records required under state and federal laws and regulations
• Ensure that all operations are following state and federal laws and regulations
• Perform routine inspection and preventative maintenance on assigned equipment and refer defects/repairs to Company personnel
• Represent the Company and the trucking industry in a professional manner

Requirements for CDL class A Driver:

• One-year of CDL experience driving a tractor trailer over 26,000 lbs.

• Knowledge of all applicable DOT Regulations and Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations.
• Meet all standards (medical, safety, etc.) required by the DOT and pass required drug/alcohol test.
