Job summary

Insights Training Group, LLC is seeking a full-time Career Technical Training (CTT) instructor in Kentucky. The role involves teaching basic principles of CTT, coordinating with the Center Workforce Council, and aligning instruction with industry certifications.

You will update eTARs, adapt lessons to student needs, and collaborate with employers to provide work-based learning opportunities. Bachelor’s degree preferred with relevant teaching experience.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated public speaking, verbal and written communication, problem solving, conflict resolution skills, and computer literacy (Internet, Email, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Education, license, certificate, credentials: Licensed, certified, or accredited in the state where the center is located or accredited by a professional trade organization. Valid State Driver’s License. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Experience: Two years of teaching experience preferred.

Job Summary

Teaches the basic principles and concepts of assigned career technical education skills to students.

Duties
  • Develop and implement the CTT program in compliance with approved Course Guides and Training Achievement Records.
  • Provide instruction and remedial training support to help students overcome barriers to obtaining industry certifications or participating in Advanced Training, Apprenticeships or Advanced Career Training.
  • Provide contextual learning opportunities for students to improve academic skills in the CTT learning environment.
  • Collaborate in developing lessons, activities, and instructional supports to address industry certification requirements.
  • Tailor instructional methods and expected progress rates to individual students’ learning styles, abilities, and career goals.
  • Deliver training through projects or workplace situations, using industry materials and employer and Workforce Council input whenever possible.
  • Incorporate work‑based learning as the primary instructional approach to applied and contextual training.
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of current industry skills, safety, and health requirements.
  • Stay current on industry certifications, prerequisites, and examination requirements.
  • Update eTARs weekly to credit student skill attainment.
  • Recommend curriculum materials aligned with course completion and certification requirements.
  • Support the functioning of the Center Workforce Council and community activities, including partnerships with employers, labor and business organizations, and Workforce Development Boards.
  • Work with the disability designee to provide reasonable accommodations for students with disabilities.
  • Meet performance management goals established by the National Director of Job Corps via OMS and CTT Report Cards.
  • Work closely with the Center Safety Officer and Health and Wellness Manager on health and safety matters.
  • Teach students the importance of attaining and applying the career success and academic standards listed in CTT TAR.
  • Develop year‑round job‑shadowing opportunities with community, industry, and employers.
  • Provide students with periodic feedback and assessments of progress toward career goals.
  • Maintain good housekeeping and comply with safety practices.
  • Comply with DOL guidelines, OFCCP regulations, Job Corps notices, company and center policies, and procedures.
  • Monitor, mentor, and model Career Success Standards and Employability Skills.
  • Intervene and correct inappropriate student behavior and nonperformance.
  • Comply with state regulations related to testing and certification.
  • Maintain building and equipment, ensuring proper care of supplies.
  • Participate in required staff training and perform other duties as assigned.

Physical Demands

Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, reach, and talk. Occasionally required to lift or move up to 50 pounds. Requires good close, distance, and peripheral vision.
