Job summary

Asplundh Tree Expert, LLC is seeking a Bucket Operator (CDL required) for full-time, non-exempt work in New Jersey. The role involves operating bucket equipment, trimming and removing trees near utility lines, and coordinating with property owners and customers.

CDL is required and union membership is expected. Responsibilities include ensuring safety, coordinating with authorities, maintaining equipment, and training new crew members.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Familiar with electrical hazards and able to recognize risks.
• Able to identify tree and shrub species.
• Physical energy and manual coordination required.
• Willing to join local union and pay dues.

Responsibilities

• Plans, assigns, directs, checks, and coordinates work.
• Obtains permission from property owners to trim or remove trees.
• Maintains customer and public relations through effective work.
• Cooperates with customers, police, and fire departments when blocking streets or driveways.
• Safeguards employees and the public from hazards.
• Sets up barriers, warning signs, and markers for safety.
• Responsible for quality and quantity of production and safe practices.
• Operates and services equipment (gasoline tools, hydraulic tools, power saws, buckets, etc.).
• Operates a Bucket near energized lines to remove branches.
• Performs tree and bucket rescue.
• Uses hand tools (axes, saws, pruners).
• Cleans up and disposes of debris.
• Sprays brush and stumps with herbicides.
• Trains new personnel.
