Job summary

Kamconewengland in Connecticut seeks a CDL driver responsible for delivering products and materials to job sites, loading and unloading trucks, and supervising laborers as needed.

You will drive from the facility to designated job sites, carry materials, keep mileage logs, and follow dispatcher directions. Must operate forklift periodically, wear PPE, and maintain vehicle; report unsafe conditions to management.

Qualifications

• Must possess a valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
• Clean driving history record required.
• Participate in mandatory federally regulated programs.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate crane/boom or moffett as required.
• Adhere to company policies and procedures.
• Notify branch management immediately of unsafe loading conditions.

SUMMARY

Responsible for delivering products and materials on a timely basis to job sites, as well as, for loading and unloading trucks and providing supervision/direction to laborers as needed.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Drive trucks from the facility to designated job sites safely and in a timely manner.
2. Load and unload building materials on and off trucks and carry materials onto job sites.
3. Keep mileage logs as necessary.
4. Ability to follow directions from dispatcher/branch management.
5. Ability to convey directions and work effectively with a partner.
6. Operate forklifts periodically.
7. Use personal protective equipment as required.
8. Responsible for care and maintenance of assigned vehicle.
9. Must be able to operate designated crane/boom, or moffett safely and efficiently.
10. Ensure that company policies and procedures are adhered to.
11. Notify branch management immediately on any unsafe loading condition.
12. Other miscellaneous duties as assigned by management.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

EDUCATION AND OR EXPERIENCE

1. Some schooling is preferred
2. One must possess a valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
3. One must also obtain a clean driving history record

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by the employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

1. Will experience frequent standing, sitting, walking, bending, climbing, reaching, pushing, and pulling.
2. Frequently experience lifting and carrying objects including overhead lifting (weights will vary from 50 to 150 pounds).
3. Dexterity to manipulate and utilize equipment on an as needed basis.
4. Obtain visual acuity.
5. Will be exposed to environmental surroundings - e.g. dust and varying temperatures.
