Job summary

Capital Area Food Bank is seeking a Truck Driver – CDL B to perform food deliveries to partner agencies and pickups from donors within the Washington, DC region. You will load, unload, and secure cargo, and ensure safety and compliance with DOT standards.

The role requires a CDL B, Air Brake Endorsement, and at least 5 years of driving experience, along with strong customer service skills and the ability to navigate using maps or GPS.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• CDL B with Air Brake Endorsement.
• Minimum 5 years of driving experience.
• Satisfactory safe driving record.
• Familiarity with DOT standards for commercial driving.
• Able to read maps or GPS and navigate within the Washington metropolitan area.
• Excellent customer service and communication with CAFB staff, donors, and clients.

Responsibilities

• Drive company vehicles to deliver food to partner agencies and pick up donations.
• Load, unload, and secure cargo in a safe manner.
• Maintain vehicle cleanliness and perform routine safety checks.
• Communicate knowledgeably with coworkers, donors, and clients about CAFB and related situations.
• Assist with special events and distributions; support operations as needed.
