Job summary

GFL Environmental Inc. is seeking a CDL B driver to transport, remove, deliver, and collect various liquid and solid hazardous wastes from multiple customer sites in the St. Louis area.

You will load and unload trucks and operate equipment such as vacuum and box trucks as needed. Responsibilities include safe driving, loading/unloading, maintaining logs and paperwork, reporting defects, providing professional customer service, and assisting in training teammates.

Qualifications

• CDL B with airbrakes required.
• Tanker endorsement required.
• Manual transmission driving capability with no restrictions.
• Overtime and weekend work may be required; outdoor work in all weather.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre- and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and roadworthiness.
• Safely load, unload and secure hazardous waste cargo in compliance with safety standards.
• Maintain accurate driver logs, manifests, bills of lading, and service records per regulations.
• Promptly report any mechanical issues, incidents, or damage to supervision.
• Maintain professional communication with customers and coworkers; ensure proper paperwork and sign-offs.
• Keep vehicles clean and report delivery or customer issues to management.
• Assist in training team members when required and perform other duties as assigned.

Pay: $25/hour + Commission

This driver will transport, remove, deliver, and collect various liquid and solid hazardous wastes from various customer sites. Will be required to load and unload trucks. They will also have the ability to operate a variety of truck and equipment including vacuum trucks, box trucks, and any other equipment that fits their license on site if necessary.

Key Responsibilities:

• Safe Driving & Operation: Perform pre- and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety, roadworthiness, and proper mechanical condition; maneuver trucks safely into loading/unloading positions.
• Cargo Handling & Securement: Safely load, unload, and secure all liquid and solid hazardous waste cargo in compliance with safety standards and weight/dimension regulations.
• Compliance & Documentation: Maintain accurate driver logs, manifests, bills of lading, and service records in full compliance with state, federal, DOT, and safety regulations.
• Defect & Incident Reporting: Promptly report any mechanical issues, accidents, traffic violations, or vehicle damage to supervision.
• Customer Service & Communication: Maintain professional communication with co-workers, customers, and the public; ensure timely, courteous deliveries and proper paperwork sign-offs.
• Site & Equipment Care: Keep vehicles clean, ensure any loading/unloading debris is promptly cleared, and report delivery or customer issues to management.
• Support & Teamwork: Assist in training team members when required and perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• Valid CDL B with airbrakes
• Tanker Endorsement Required
• Must be able to operate manual with no restrictions
• Overtime as required.
• Weekend work may be required, on call schedule in effect on weekly basis.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Will be required to work both indoors and outdoors.
• Manual dexterity, ability to lift 75+ lbs required.
