Job summary

Snelling Grand Rapids is seeking a CDL B Driver / Shop Technician for local deliveries and hands-on shop work in Michigan. The position is temp-to-hire with potential for permanent employment and a starting pay of about $25 per hour.

Typical schedule is Monday–Friday, about 7:00 AM–3:30 PM, with some overtime and occasional Saturdays. The role combines driving flatbed trucks, loading/unloading equipment, and operating shop machinery like forklifts and cranes.

Qualifications

• CDL B and DOT medical card required.
• Clean driving record and background check is required.
• Comfortable loading/unloading heavy equipment and materials.
• Able to operate forklifts and overhead cranes or learn to do so.
• Willing to work overtime when needed.
• Interest in learning furnace operation and shop tasks.

Responsibilities

• Drive flatbed trucks as the company’s #2 driver.
• Load and unload trucks and industrial furnaces.
• Operate overhead cranes and forklifts.
• Secure loads using chains and binders.
• Assist with shop and equipment-related duties.
• Help maintain a safe and organized work environment.
• Learn furnace operation through company training.
