Job summary

Airgas is hiring a CDL B Driver in Waycross, GA, to deliver and unload compressed gas cylinders to local and regional customers from a branch or plant. This role emphasizes safety, timely deliveries, and customer service in a physically active environment.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A or B CDL with Hazmat and Airbrake endorsements or able to obtain within 60 days.
• Maintain appropriate driver’s license and medical card.
• No more than two traffic convictions or accidents in last 3 years; clean record over seven years for DUI.
• Able to regularly lift 75lbs and move 125lbs with equipment.

Responsibilities

• Deliver and unload gas cylinders and Dewars to local and regional customers.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
• Maintain courteous relationships with customers and deliver on time.
• Safely secure cylinders and complete deliveries on customer sites.

As a key representative of Airgas, the delivery driver contributes to the safe and efficient delivery of compressed gas cylinders to local and regional business customers from an Airgas branch or plant location using a company provided CDL B vehicle. This position involves loading, unloading, and returning compressed gas cylinders and Dewars while frequently connecting with Airgas customers.

• Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
• Load and unload the truck daily with gas cylinders, Dewars & supplies
• Nurture courteous & professional relationships with customers
• Support deliveries in a timely manner
• Safely secure and unsecure cylinders
• Complete deliveries on customer property sites using a hand cart; we emphasize the physically active and hands‑on nature of this position.

Are you a MATCH?

Required Qualifications

• Valid Class A or B CDL with HAZMAT (or able to obtain it within 60 days from hire date) & Airbrake endorsements
• Maintain appropriate driver’s license, medical card & endorsements
• No more than two (2) traffic convictions: OR two (2) at‑fault accident in the last 3 years; or no more than a combination of one (1) traffic conviction and one (1) at‑fault accident in the last 3 years
• No driving while under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance within the last seven (7) years
• Must be able to work in a drug‑free environment
• Be able to regularly lift 75lbs and move more than 125lbs with the aid of material handling equipment
• Must have 1 year of CDL driving experience in the last 5 years or be able to provide proof of a certificate of completion from trucking school completed in the last 12 months.
