Job summary

Airgas, Inc. is seeking a CDL B Driver to perform deliveries in North Charleston, SC. Responsibilities include loading/unloading gas cylinders, conducting vehicle inspections, and maintaining customer relationships.

The ideal candidate will possess a valid CDL B with HAZMAT and have the ability to lift heavy loads. Comprehensive family benefits, including medical, dental, and retirement plans, will be provided along with paid time off and tuition assistance.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A or B CDL with HAZMAT (or able to obtain within 60 days from hire).
• 1 year of CDL driving experience in the last 5 years or certificate of completion from trucking school within 12 months.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre‑trip and post‑trip vehicle inspections.
• Load and unload the truck daily with gas cylinders and supplies.
• Nurture courteous and professional relationships with customers.
• Support deliveries in a timely manner.
• Safely secure and unsecure cylinders.

Location: Charleston, SC

Responsibilities

• Perform pre‑trip and post‑trip vehicle inspections.
• Load and unload the truck daily with gas cylinders and supplies.
• Nurture courteous and professional relationships with customers.
• Support deliveries in a timely manner.
• Safely secure and unsecure cylinders.
• Complete deliveries on customer property sites using a hand cart; this position emphasizes a physically active and hands‑on nature.
• Frequent entry and exit of the vehicle.
• Review a day‑in‑the‑life video.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Class A or B CDL with HAZMAT (or able to obtain within 60 days from hire date) and Airbrake endorsements.
• Maintain appropriate driver's license, medical card & endorsements.
• No more than two traffic convictions, or two at‑fault accidents in the last 3 years, or a combination of one conviction and one accident.
• No driving while under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance within the last 7 years.
• Must be able to work in a drug‑free environment.
• Be able to regularly lift 75 lbs and move more than 125 lbs with material handling equipment.
• Must have 1 year of CDL driving experience in the last 5 years or be able to provide proof of a certificate of completion from trucking school completed in the last 12 months.

Preferred Qualifications

• Forklift experience.
