Roush is seeking a full-time CDL A Test Driver in Portland, OR to test drive prototype trucks and provide feedback to the development team. No deliveries; home every day. Night shift, 8 PM–7 AM, 4 days a week (Sun–Wed or Wed–Sat).

Qualifications

• HS diploma or equivalent
• Valid Class A CDL
• 3+ years of recent, verifiable CDL A driving experience
• Ability to pass a DOT physical and DOT drug test
• Background check including Motor Vehicle Record
• Ability to work 11-hour night shift
• Flexible scheduling including weekends
• Strong verbal and written documentation skills
• Knowledge of DOT hours of service rules

Responsibilities

• Safely operating Class A commercial vehicles, including electric and autonomous vehicles
• Driving vehicles on test routes or tracks
• Documenting functional issues encountered while driving
• Testing vehicle features and evaluating performance
• Completing required paperwork to document issues
• Hooking and unhooking trailers
• Logging all work/rest periods and miles using an ELD
• Retaining fuel/toll and hotel receipts
• Complying with DOT rules and regulations including HOS and pre/post trip inspections
• Reporting defects or incidents immediately

This position is located in Portland, OR and we are looking for night shift, 4 days a week (2 spots - Sunday - Wednesday or Wednesday - Saturday) shift is approximately 8 PM to 7 AM.

As a CDL A Test Driver, you will be responsible for:

• Safely operatingclass A commercial vehicles, which may include electric and autonomous vehicles, in compliance with all Department of Transportation (DOT) rules
• Drivingvehicles on specified routes or test track
• Documenting functional issues encountered while driving
• Testingvehicle features and systems and evaluatingvehicle performance
• Completingrequired paperwork to document issues
• Hooking and un-hooking trailers
• Documenting and logging all work and rest periods and miles spent driving using an electronic logging device (ELD)
• Retaining fuel/toll and hotel receipts
• Complyingwith all DOT rules and regulations including hours of service (HOS) and pre and post trip inspections
• Reporting defects, accidents or violations immediately

To be considered as a CDL A Test Driver, you will need:

• A high school diploma or equivalent
• A valid Class A commercial driver's license
• 3+ years of recent,verifiable Class A driving (CDL A) experience
• Ability to pass a DOT physical examination and DOT drug test
• Ability to pass a background check including Motor Vehicle Record to comply with company standards
• Ability to work 11-hour night shift
• Flexible scheduling, including weekday and weekends
• Strong verbal and written communication skillsfor documentation of the testing
• Knowledge of DOT rules and regulations including (HOS) limitations

Preferred Qualifications:

• Ability to operate a manual transmission vehicle
