Job summary

Alto Ingredients in Pekin, IL is seeking a CDL-A Tanker / Hazmat Driver for regional and local routes. Most work Monday–Friday with occasional evening Sunday start, delivering to production and customer plants.

You will inspect vehicles, ensure safety, and maintain logs, with competitive hourly pay and comprehensive benefits.

Requirements include Class A CDL with Hazmat and Tanker endorsements, prior truck-driving experience, and ability to operate GPS/AVL tech.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency, preferred.
• Class A CDL with Hazmat Certification and Tanker endorsement, required.
• Proven work experience as a truck driver.
• Hands on experience with electronic equipment and software (GPS, AVL units, CB etc.).
• Extensive knowledge of applicable truck driving rules and regulations.
• Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations (traffic, weather conditions, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Transport finished goods to and from our production plant from manufacturing facilities or customer plants.
• Inspect vehicles for mechanical items and safety issues and perform preventative maintenance.
• Comply with truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking, and break periods) as well as with company policies and procedures.
• Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions.
• Collect and verify delivery instructions.
