Job summary

Salt City Trucking in Downers Grove, IL seeks a CDL-A Semi-Local Freight Driver to haul no-touch, service-sensitive freight from North Dakota and Minnesota. The role offers a Friday–Tuesday schedule with start times around 7:00 AM and potential home time during the week, plus online orientation and on-site management. You will deliver freight from distribution locations in ND and MN, with occasional runs outside those states. 100% no-touch freight; PTO accrual starts at hire.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A CDL.
• Minimum 6 months of verifiable truck driving experience.
• DOT Medical Card.
• Clean driving record.
• No SAP drivers.
• Ability to meet strict delivery schedules and follow customer protocols.
• Willingness to assist other accounts when needed.
• Passengers and pets are not permitted.

Responsibilities

• Deliver freight from distribution locations in North Dakota and Minnesota.
• Occasional runs may extend outside those states.
• 100% no-touch freight.
• Deliveries are service-sensitive and must be completed on time.
• Follow customer procedures for checking in loaded trailers and placing dropped trailers.
• An empty trailer is required before departing the terminal for each run.
• Assist other accounts in the area when freight volume is low.
• On-site management is available Monday–Friday, with after-hours support.
